The sky unfolds
Above us, stars splashed
Across the soft midnight vault,
Milky clouds drifting beneath the moon.
You tell me how far away the stars are;
Talk of space sets me adrift from time
As I listen to the low hum of your voice
Watching clouds slip past the moon.
You gently take your hand from mine
To point out a constellation
